Welcome to St. Patrick elementary school!  God is alive and present in our school each and every day as our children not only learn about their faith, they practice it daily.

When you send your child to a Catholic school, you are making a decision that will greatly impact their young lives.  From pre-K and up, our children learn about their faith; they attend mass weekly, and they learn directly from our parish priest who spends time in the classroom teaching about Jesus and our heavenly father.  This early and direct contact instills in our students a love for their faith and an appreciation of it through practice.

We understand that for some families, the decision to send their children to a Catholic school is an easy one, while for other families; the decision is not so clearly defined.  Therefore, some items worth mentioning may be:

-Class sizes at St. Patrick are limited.  Because we are a parochial school, we have full control over class size.  Elkhorn is blessed with a fine public school system; however, with class sizes at peak capacity, what type of attention will your child be receiving?  And will your child be taught by a certified teacher, or will your child actually be taught by parent aides?

-Religion Class.  Learning about the Bible, Jesus, and our faith is an ongoing and day-to-day occurrence, and preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are incorporated into the religion curriculum.  So while our parish offers a wonderful Religious Education Program (REP), St. Patrick School students receive the instruction needed for the receipt of these sacraments during their regular school day.

-On campus pre-K through eighth grade.  Our students intermingle with one another—from the youngest ones to the oldest ones.  Our younger students look up to the older students and consider them big brothers and sisters as they come into contact with them through various school functions.  Our older students, on the other hand, learn responsibility toward and guardianship of their younger schoolmates.  This sense of family is something that cannot be taught—it must be experienced.

-Academics.  St. Patrick's students consistently score higher in national testing than their public school peers.

-Sports.  St. Patrick students are able to participate in volleyball and basketball beginning in fifth grade.

Finally, we truly understand that sending your child to St. Patrick's does have a financial impact on your family.  As such, this decision is one that is not made lightly.  However, we truly believe that the education and the experience of our small, nourishing school is something that is truly worth the investment.   [should be available to all who seek it.  Financial aid is available, if needed.]

We invite you to visit our school, meet our staff, and observe our classes.  We most sincerely look forward to the opportunity to welcome you into our family.
